The Château de l’Aile in Vevey – a masterpiece of the Vaud neo-Gothic style – had been badly damaged over the centuries and required extensive renovation from 2008 to 2017. The demanding multiple arches, wolf’s tongue closures, fish bands and espagnolettes presented a particular challenge in window construction. Together with an artisan blacksmith, we recreated 50 windows true to detail. Thin insulating glass with a historic putty bevel and frame seal provides contemporary thermal insulation.
